Highlights of the New OWL Features for 2008

Expected Release: Early June, 2008

CONTENT MANAGEMENT
New tools give you and your students more control over OWL's content.

  • Assignment Viewer - See all questions in an assignment on a single page with quick navigation between assignments. Easily include or exclude assignments and questions all from the same place.  View

  • End-of-chapter Question Tutors - Provide tutoring for end-of-chapter questions or turn off so students answer questions without help (for selected texts).

  • e-Book Tools - Enable students to highlight and take notes in the e-Book.

STUDENT ACCESS
New features simplify students' online interaction.

  • Gradebook Categories - Show OWL assignment grades in the OWL Gradebook as total points or scaled scores for assignment groups. Also, sort by Requirement (required, optional, extra credit), ignore due dates, limit or add time to due date for grade calculations, and drop a set number of lowest grade assignments.  View

  • Gradebook Reports - Select the Gradebook categories to include in the report and determine what fields should be included.  View

  • WebCT Integration - Go from WebCT to OWL without logging into OWL. (Requires configuration by WebCT administrators at each institution.)
